Default S-Series Special Subaru Database

Thought I would start a new thread instead of hijacking the ultimate wrx one. Everyone is welcome to keep adding to this thread in an effort to make it a one-stop database when it comes to all things S-Series special cars. I hope when reading this you can appreciate how much time and work goes into compiling something like this!

We start with the S201 (something quite close to my own heart ).

Built in limited numbers from April to September of 2000. First car in Japan to exceed the 206kw gentlemans agreement and in April 2000 was the most powerful factory car you could buy in Japan. Special order build only by STi Japan in limited number batches. Featuring every conceivable STi part available in 2000 also including Subaru Electra One Concept Vehicle aerodynamics. Platform was based on a Version VI STi as evidenced by the quater mounted ariel. Upgraded using typeRA V-Limited parts and exclusive S201 only upgrades and one off colour as seperate to the rest of the lineup.

On a personal note, I strongly believe they never made the three hundred cars. I base this on a several educated assumptions. The first being, if you take the 22b (400 in Japan) at any given moment in Japan via goo-net or yahoo.jp you are likely to find between 6-8 cars for sale at any moment in time. On build numbers alone they range from as low as high teens to as high as three hundreds. So now the S201, super rare find in the above carsales dot com of japan, lucky to find maybe one or two every few months. On build numbers I have yet to see anything higher than build number 77.

Naturally these are my assumptions but I base these on the information I have gathered. So what do we really know.

Two test mules, the 000/300 and 001/300 reported to be press cars appearing in such as carview in Japan and other various newsprint magazines of the time.

On my research I believe 8 are currently outside Japan.

Four in England, 28/300 77/300 two so badly damaged they are being broken up for parts
One in Hong Kong 34/300
One in Thailand ??/300
One in Australia 25/300
One in New Zealand ??/300

The rest are all in Japan in one way or another.

In order,

002/300

008/300

017/300

028/300

031/300

034/300

040/300

042/300

048/300

075/300

Spotted today, 18/06/09 in a high-rise car park awaiting yearly vehicle inspection.

About two years ago, as above waiting for its yearly inspection.

The following I don't have build numbers on but are special nonetheless!
