Approval will need to be sought for lowering or raising your car more than 5cm. 5cm = 50mm which is nearly 2 inches. That's a hell of a lot of drop. If you are lowering your car any more than that, you are severely changing the suspension geometry, which should require approval.
They are also changing the raising height from 15cm to 5cm. Again to stop idiots just smashing in whatever they want which will drastically effect the suspension geometry.
