I'd advise taking it to an auto electrician,A/C specialist ask for the following. Vent outlet temp test. Leak test. And compressor check. Check and record high/low temps and pressures. Evac the system for 1 hr. Check vacuum leaks over 20mins. If all checks out and after necessary repairs made, top up compressor with 30ml of recommended oil. And regas the system via head pressure not capacity. Good luck mate.
Done this to all 3 of mine when I've had engines out made no difference . I didnt find it that noticeable and dont feel a power drop on the B4 or RS but do on the RX , Id say he has a different issue if its so noticeable . Wonder if the ac idle up solenoid is blocked or faulty had this on my GTR and it cycled the compressor every 20 or so seconds and was really noticeable till I swapped it out.
