Power FC Base Map
 

Hey guys, just a quick one here

Im wondering how to get my Power FC to run on its base/factory map?I have the hand controller also but cannot find the right menu to do it.

IIRC...

Under the "ETC" menu, there is an option labelled: "All Data Init"

Resets the Power FC to factory defaults.

Just did that, selected YES after I went into that menu.

Went to start it, sh turned over and then a loud crack/bang sound came from the engine, then nothing. Any ideas?

Does your car run on the OEM ECU? Could be a faulty PFC.

Yes it ran on OEM ECU.

Maybe try plugging in the OEM ECU for a minute to check for any fault codes. Or plugging the PFC into another RS/early WRX.

Just put in OEM ECU. Checked codes, got none. Tried to start it and she wont start now, sounds like its trying to just turn over but sounds like something is stuck internally in the engine.

Getting worried now.

maybe the PFC was holding the injectors open all the time and you've flooded one of the cylinders. You may have hydraulic lock. You'll need to pull the spark plugs out and drain the fuel out. Then change the oil as it may have been contaminated by the fuel.

Yer thats it Ludwig, just did it all then. Cant change the oil as Im using Run in oil at the moment, should I not drive it?

After speaking to Doug(dtrally), I just confirmed it was Hydraulic Lock. Dont know how it happens, but it dumps heaps of fuel into one cyclinder and does something else which causes it to stay put.

I took out all the plugs, then turned it over by hand and heaps of fuel pissed out of #1 cyclinder. Put plugs back in, disconnected the plug that supplies spark to all coilpacks and cranked it over a few times to get it all running. Then connected the plug back up and she fired up after that.

Apparently this was caused by the Power FC. Not sure if I should refit it now?

I recommend changing the oil. If the cylinder was flooded, some of the fuel may have leaked past the rings and into the sump. Some good quality Mineral non synthetic oil is okay for running in.

Maybe if your still keen, plug the Power FC in one more time since it has now been reset. If it doesn't start in one or two tries, then go back to the OEM ECU.
