what power fc
Hi guys, hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Purchased what I now have found out to be a converted 97 impreza. Car had no history, and on further inspection it looks to my untrained eye to be a 94 ej20H block converted to run a single vf23 turbo. I checked the ECU and it is a yellow 3 plug 8s unit, which i believe to be from a UK delivered wrx according to several web pages. The transmission is a TY752VN3BA. After that long winded history, my question is - Am I able to purchase a 3 plug power fc to suit a 97 model aus delivered wrx and run with it (even it does need the pins swapped over) or do I need to look for a specific model power FC as I have a "bitsa" vehicle? any info greatly appreciated |
I'll need to check in the morning but pretty sure 8S is a MY98 ECU. Where are your ignition coils located, coil on plug, coil pack in centre of manifold or sitting off to the passenger side on the manifold?
In the center of the manifold. 97/98 manifold?
Yep 97/98. There is a Power FC to suit, need one to suit 97/98 (V3 - V4).

thanks for the quick reply GX-REX, I was thinking that but needed the confirmation from someone that knows what they're on about.
No probs. I have MY98 running gear in my 96 GX converted wagon...
Can you please post up the full oem part number on your ecu?
Is this for Car Ramrod?
Did someone say shinanigans?
Does that look like spit to you!?
