Autronic SM4 and Knockboard
 

Hi All,

I got an offer I couldn't refuse so I have had a SM4 installed and tuned with the new knockboard included, all done by Lane at Racetorque.

I had no issues with the previous tune, but the added features of antilag etc were too good to pass up, here are the graphs.

This above graph shows previous high boost setting tune, and 2 tunes done by Lane..

This above graph shows the low boost setting, 1 bar, massive improvement here.

Great to see some NON ASG tuned cars putting some awesome numbers up on here for a change.

Got to love Lane's work. Can't wait till the 21st when I get mine back with toys and tune :D :D :D

All I could get out of him yesterday when I dropped in was Autronic and 270KW. Seemed pretty happy with it though.

Mine was supposed to go in on monday, but looks like it'l another week by the time my knock board arrives. cant wait to get some results at last.

He's extracted nearly an extra 30kw out of it! wow

Check out the gains on the low boost setting, over 50kw.

My only gripe is they had my car for over a week, it seems the rally stuff comes first, I suppose that is fair enough as it's their main bread and butter.

The low and midrange feel of the car is sensational now, I have to watch myself, might need some better tyres.

By the way, they should already have the knockboards, I overheard Lane say a heap had arrived!!!!

seems like hes ordered for the rally cars? anyway id rather get in and out in 1 day - my tune will take him a while the with injection setup. His workshop looked packed.

You'll be lucky for it to take 1 day :D

I dont understand much about AFR's, but Lane told me the knockboard makes tuning closer to the limits so much easier and safer.

I have given the car a good flogging tonight and no hint of pinging, I know the weather is cooler now!!

the knockboard automatically pulls timing as soon as it detects reasonable amount of knock, it makes tuning to the upper limits much easier and safer.
He rekns he made an extra 9kw on one of his rally cars, that was already tuned to the utmost limit.

All I know is the clouds of black smoke coming from my exhaust have now gone, it was running too rich, so much that my oil kept getting contaminated by petrol!!

Lane swears by the knockboard, as you mentioned he is getting more power from cars he previously tuned :D

How much is the Knockboard?
