Now she's a dedicated weekender......where to from here

Posted 11-02-2010 at 01:53 PM by EXPLICIT

Sooooo, if you read through my build journals, you'd have noticed the build for the S204 was to make it an all rounder, to drive everyday and thrash around all at the same time.

Goal posts moved a little with the introduction of a daily driver that's predictably comfortable (and boat like), far from performance but fantastically well built and whisper quiet.

This makes the 204 a dedicated toy.

Where do I go to from here? Nowhere really, although the compromise in the car can be negated a little, most likely with the removal of a majority of the entertainment system, and transplanting it into the daily drive. Thus giving the 204 a bit of a diet. Fit up a harness and possibly a few choice cusco braces and go do a bit more racing I love the car the way it is, so saving some weight and adding some rigidity is all a plus i think.

Weren't you looking into one of those harness bars a while back but baulked at the idea due to loss of room for the youngen?
Or will you rip the back seat out now?...

Strip it, cage it, race it?

On the other hand it is a rare and lets face it...expensive...car, would it really do anything that a well thought out regular STI can not do for similar or less money? Once it has turned in to a track car it loses the stuff that makes it a special and valuable 204 and will become another modified Impreza.

Agreed. Just pull out the rear seat, whack in a harness and go have some fun. There are a number of reversable options available if i wanted to lose some serious weight, but they're not high on the priority list, and much prefer honing my time behind the wheel instead
