Where do I stand?

OK....

Just wondering where I stand if my plate was taken down and reported to the cops??

Here is what happened:

Driving through a roundabout going straight and a dark blue magna on the left pauses, wanting to turn left. I'm already halfway through the roundabout and he pulls out in front of me.

I had no choice but to smash the brakes, come off them and then overtake him on the right hand lane that becomes one or I would have ploughed straight into him.

As I pass him I notice he has a child and his wife/gf in the car with him.... he just laughs at me which in turn made me even more pissed off.

I drive at the speed limit and look in the rear view mirror observing that his partner is going through her handbag. She took a photo of the car and was writing stuff down.

We get to the next roundabout and I decided to stop and get out. Before any of you flame me I was just going to politely tell him that he was a tool and may of caused a serious accident and that he was carrying his family in the car. Anyway as I got out and started walking to his car he starts reversing back up the street. I just got back in my car and drove home.

I have no record at all with the police, over here. So if I am reported what is the worse case senario??

To be honest I don't think the Police will bother to come knocking at your door, but notes may be made in their system in case there is some form of consistent reckless behaviour on the street by you. If you don't drive around like a twat regularly and have a good driving record, I wouldn't worry about it all too much.

I guess you could always ring central and tell them that you fear that someone may have reported your car/plates to them, and just explain the situation. Tell them you had no choice but to veer onto the wrong side of the road/righthand lane after he failed to give way to you at a roundabout.

hmmm... ok well I drive responsibly around my area. However anybody could report a car now and have a note next to their name. Thanks for the advice, will wait and see.

you be right mate. thats just like you driving behind anyone taking a photo of car drivng normal then goin to the cops. doesnt mean shit if there is no photo of you driving like an idiot. where is the proof. its there word against yours. i dont think they will waste there time

Did you get their plates? Report them for road rage.

Get in first, and their photo and description of what happened to you will be less credible.

Their word against yours, fuck them.

I had someone do the same thing for me for going through a roundabout 'too fast' in the WRX. She was on the phone to the cops while stopped at an intersection (I know this as she was shouting out the window at me!).

Good news was she lived in my suburb so I use to go past her place and give it a rev up just so she knew it.... not very mature, but fun.

So yes, nothing at all will come of it.

Nah Joe I was too busy trying to avoid smashing into the rear of his car.

When I got out I didn't even think of looking at the plate just in case he decided to run me over or try to be a dick and swerve near me. In the end he didn't have the balls to even talk to me.
