Bullshit. Animal Cruelty just tugs on people hearth strings and generates traffic. Especially for always on media like a website.

And yes it does say alot about our culture. We will read/watch news articles on cruelty to animals (and get outraged) but wont read an article on ethnic tensions or fraud investigations (and then be un-interested). Thus not generating advertising revenue and having a journalist do journalism instead of just reporting.
