Mobile Phone Insurance
 

Had an iphone nicked from my padlocked tent at Southbound a few weeks back, no problem since I pay 10 bucks a month for phone insurance, right?

Wrong :(

After jumping through all the hoops of having the Imei number barred, the SIM replaced and making a police report and acquiring a report number, I get a call today to say my Insurance Claim will not be honoured.

Why?

Because the phone was reported stolen from a public place (my padlocked tent, while I went for a shower)- I was told by the insurance assessor that if I reported the phone as lost it would be replaced no hassels, but because of the wording I used when reporting it stolen my claim is null and void.

Bastards!

That's shit man, sorry to hear. Something about that all doesn't quite sound right though.

Sometimes your home and contents covers things outside
the home, check your policy if you have one you could be
surprised.
