My advice- get them sand-blasted and professionally painted with the finish baked etc. Shouldn't cost you more than $100 at an 'expensive' place, and is more worthwhile than spending the money on cleaning back the calipers, using at least 2 cans of super-cheap variety paint... and then having to re-do the whole thing after a month's work of road debri and heat have peeled away and faded the finish!!

Another recommendation when doing this is to choose your colour.. and then make sure it's a metalic finish, not a flat one. The metalic will catch the light and add volume to the overall finish. When it is baked it will stay on for ages..!

Not 100% sure on Brembos for a wrx, but I have had a fair bit of exposure to Ducati Brembo brakes.

The main problem when they were polished was that they pitted. Lots of tiny pin prick bubbles in the surface. They reason we were given was that at the temperatures the brakes run, the polish would bubble. Calipers themselves were fine, they just looked shit.

Why not just give it a bash, if it doesnt work, while you've still got the wheels off, paint em.

yeah why not. can bleed the brakes and refresh the oil at same time

but chances are after being polished they will look crap once water and weather sets in on them is that right ?

so might be better to just paint them dont need them to stand out anyway.
