If you want the weight saving, get an alloy bonnet. Alloy bonnets are very close to the CF equivalent in mass.

If you want it for the wank factor, well your beyond help. The one Malz keeps are CF layer over fibre glass. A real CF bonnet is very expensive if you can find them. Yes, they are illegal. CF doesn't crumple unless it has pre-designed weak spots in the support frame so that it will snap in certain places in the event of a accident. Normally CF will just shatter. Though if your going to go out, you may as well do it in style with big shards of CF impaling you.
And my opinion is you're a dickhead!

Thanks for the advice, but I'm aware of the pros and cons of c/f, I just asked if anyone knew where to get them.

Thanks for the helpfull replies!

this section is Cosmetic, not performance or hardcore. so please allow ppl to talk about something Cosmetic only, like last time when a girl rex owner talked about the decal on the car, ppl said similar things too. As well as when someone mention about installing some gauges.

a little birdie told me that c/f IS LEGAL, but only if it is coated in some sort of.. stuff. that's what i am aware of. i think the coating prevents something. smashing? shards? shatters? splinters? big chunks? I dont know, i will ask for more details from the source tomorrow but yeah, i HEARD it was ok if it is coated in X product.

EDIT: a car which this mysterious 'source' owns recently passed the pits with a CF bonnet. it was approved and he (source) was making sure they picked up everything that wasn't legal coz he didn't want anything on his ride that wasn't legal. so he was checking it twice, basically.

Again, what the pits approve and what the cops will cannarie you for is different. I'm just passing on knowledge - correct or otherwise.
Like I said, details later if Ic an get them

as i said, when cops making trouble with the cf bonnet, tell them they are just fibre glass bonnet.

only the hell expensive ones they use only 2 layers of carbon fiber and 1 kelver fibre pu like a sandwich and high presured to the certain shape, that one you'll need bonnet pin to hold it, that's a real carbo fiber bonnet.

Hahaha. Nice.

Its a personal choice with legal or not. Tint, rims, gates, cages and what not. Its the same old fear shit again that always pops up on all forums. Its like people need to hear how good and sensibile THEY are for staying legal. Good on ya. Personally i find legal and bombed cars not the same same.
