Gauge pod + gauges

About mid July, I ordered a zerosports gauge hood, Apexi water temp gauge & an Apexi gauge controller. I FINALLY got the order completed yesterday, yep, 5 and a half months later I got the parts, they were ordered from Nengun Performance in Japan (it was a good price).
Due to my wait, and, the lack of correspondence (sp?) on their part, Id highly recommend AVOID!!!!!

Annyways, despite still needing to buy 1 more gauge, (I havent decided on what the 3rd gauge should be) Ive fitted the pod and gauges in, thought Id take a few photos.

looks good! :D

cant wait to do mine now, i can see that you have boost and water temp. have you thought about oil temp/pressure??

Rexxar 29-12-2007 07:22 PM

nice and you can still see the clock which is alwasy good

+1 on the oiltemp/pressure

gumby 29-12-2007 09:01 PM

yeah, I was considering one of those, just dont know which :p

+1 for avoiding nengun.. gauges look good otherwise.

ImPreSiV 29-12-2007 10:17 PM

i like the idea of having the clock in it as well. Thats handy.

I woulda gone for boost/oil press/oil temp rather than water temp.. its not really needed seeing as tho there is a water temp gauge in the dash already... but each to their own.

Something I really wanna do, but I dont have the $$ atm.

nice :D Looks the part!

One question tho... Do they face directly forward or are they angled slightly towards the driver?..... just curious :)

gumby 29-12-2007 10:26 PM

ever so slightly towards the driver, but id say its pretty straight facing, doesnt overly bother me though.

Evo2 29-12-2007 10:35 PM

sweet...definently looks the part anyway!

Gives the interior that 'cockpit' look! :p

Was thinking of something like this for my GC8, what sort of price did you pay mate?...... If you dont mind me asking. :o

Another one here for the Oil temp/pressure gauge. Had it in my 3 guage pod in my old rex, was pretty useful.

Cost me $200 + $25 postage.
(there was 2 tpyes, i picked the more expensive one with carbon fibre style)

Best price I found local, before postage, was $300
The local price was the plain plastic one, without the Carbon Fibre look.

I had trouble deciding on where to mount the control unit for the gauges, I mean, I didnt want it stuck under my steering column, or in the middle of my dash, but also wanted it somewhere that I can get to it if I need to, so here was my solution.

Works good, and I didnt lose any space in my glovebox. Worked out good, the glovebox housing? had holes in it already, so it was a simple task of threading wires through, and some double sided tape later. Yay! :p
