center dash removal
Hey guys just wondering if anyone with a my99/00 Wrx have removed the center dash surrounding the cd head unit to get the deck out? Ive tryed taking the drink holder out like I had to do with my 97 liberty but it didn't work the drink holder didn't come out after taking the 2 screws out is there any secret screws that are hard to spot? Any advice would be awsome wana try get it out sarvo

hmmm it's not working for me so u recon it's still just the 2 ones from the sting holder then the whole surrou d and drink holder should come out?

ok but what I don't get is were r the screws that is holding it in place?

The surrounding hasnt got any, i dont think ..
Pull the ash tray out and pull it out from buttom then work your way up carefully might be tight so yea. |
Easiest way is to pull the gearstick surround up (the plastic going around the shifter - carbon fibre looking stuff in the pic above) and rotate it 90 degrees.
This will make space for the centre dash surround (in red above) to come out. You just have to pull it firmly - it's got quiet a few clips holding it in. Be firm but don't twist etc. I don't recall there being any screws on the surround. PS: You don't need to touch the cup holder to get the head unit out. |
hmm not sure bout this it's really firmly in there and plus I have a sock not a cf cover and don't think that comes off why do they make it so dam dificult LOL there is 2 screws in the roof of the ash tray holder that are pretty firm do u think they might be part of it?

i pulled mine out the other day, you dont need to pull the 2cup holder 6of54f0.+0
