fobz 06-12-2008 12:03 PM

Clear coat to stop it rusting. If its small just get a clear coat touch up
thingy from the local auto store. Will stop the rusting until it gets
fixed properly

Was the 4wd there when you returned?

If it was did you wait to show them or did you get some quick
revenge? :icon_evil

I always make sure i park far away from anyone else even if
it means walking an extra 200m.

If you spray the door itself later, chances are the paint wont match your front door and rear quarter panel. I would blend the whole side, but thats me.

Jim621 21-01-2009 10:32 AM

Red nail polish for a cheap fix?

I use clear nail polish on chips from rocks if its down to the metal...

Steve.

damo 21-01-2009 10:52 AM

Well it's close to being down to the metal I think but I was thinking of getting both doors done so he benson at bbk can blend to the door but I'll probly ask him what he recomends for the colour?

mattmy99 21-01-2009 11:35 AM

^^Beaconsfield. Just south of O'connor.

GX-REX 21-01-2009 11:49 AM

Is that down to the metal?
Looks from the pic like white paint rubbed onto it. Pretty sharp dent though so dunno if ding king can do anything with it.

Um I'll have a good look at it today n see but I don't think it's down to the metal but it's close n might just be the primer or sompthing because it doesn't look like it is rusting so probly isn't to the metal

DingKing 01-02-2009 12:23 AM

Yeah we should be able to get that dent out for ya. We don't do paint repairs but can put you onto a mobile paint repair guy where you could have the chip touched up if you wish. thedingking.com.au for more info ;)

Pinky 01-02-2009 10:25 AM

What about really fine dings?

I've got several dings which are fairly shallow, and not really that evident, but when you approach the car from a 3/4 angle in bright sunlight, it has an "acne" like appearance.

I can live with them for now, but at some point I would like to get the car resprayed, and having a new paint job with noticeable dings kind of defeats the purpose

Or are new door skins the answer if you are a really anal retentive kind of person.

DingKing 18-02-2009 07:43 PM

How many of those shallow dents do you have? they should come out good! Its the big, deep dents that are a real challenge! :)

DJDINO 18-02-2009 10:38 PM

Benson did a front bar rear bar and bonnet on my GC8 and it has 10 year old red paint (not easy to match) and it is very hard to pick the new panels.

damo 19-02-2009 04:44 PM

hey mate are u able to tell me how much u recon it might cost to get my dent repaired an aprox price?

Cool,

I have about six in the driver's door, two in the front fender, and one or two in the right side rear door.

I'll probably get them done when I get some leave in a couple of months time.

; )
