Hi all, did a quick search but came up with nothing,

The old man wants to get mum some speakers for chrissy for her 98 wrx, but i know that some speakers can bee to deep and fowl on the window stuff, so what im asking is who has changed the stock speakers and what did you put in without modifications pictures would be awsome to if you have any thanks

just borrow your mums car for the day and sus it out

You'll need spacers for any good aftermarket speakers as far as I know.

I can't recall if the stock ones are 6" or 61/2".

The spacers I've used most recently were to fit MB Quart 6 1/2" splits, spacers needed to be 24mm thick for window clearance (they still fit behind the factory speaker covers in the door trim).

can u please confirm that it has to be 24mm so that i can get the correct size mdf

I put in some 6.5 inch Eclipse speakers in the front doors of my GC8. Dropped straight in without any modification at all.

yeh i put 6" pioneer speakers in mine, that pretty muched dropped in, all i had to do though was cut a lit bit of the plastic surround off to fit the magnet in.

No luck on doing research so ill use this thread..

bought some soundstream 6.5inch splits from alberts ossie park, now all different brands use different size spacer for the front doors, fair few people here use MB Quart and get 24mm spacers..

now has anyone used soundstream speakers and what size spacer have use made/bought?
