Car Stereo USB "Skipping"

Howdy,

So i got a new Pioneer Deck on the weekend, and i've noticed that under semi hard cornering, sometimes the USB will "skip".

Usually if there is a slight bump in the road....

Does this happen to anyone else? Could it be because of hard suspension? Mind you im on the stock suspension....

I've noticed that when it happens, it beeps, lights to the deck stay on, and the "USB" sign pops up on the screen, as if it has just selected USB as a source. Then it just resumes playback....

Ideas? Mate said it could be faulty accessory wire but that would mean all power to the deck will cut temporarily right?

Tried a new USB too....same thing...

yeh same sorta thing happens to me every now and then..

i have an alpine dvd unit in my car.. and sometimes when I go over bumps my music just stops. and wont play again... i have to remove the usb and put it back in to work. no idea what causes this.

Sounds like the USB stick is coming out/breaking contact or being jolted by the bump. Does it do the same thing when stopped and you wiggle the USB stick?

Sounds like a contact issue on the USB plug or cable to rear or deck.

Never had an issue with my USB skipping.
I always use it when driving "enthusiastically" as the CD skips.

Definately sounds like bad contacts.

Jeckle: Nope the connection is solid and i cant even wiggle it around....

Can you fix bad contacts or does that mean faulty deck?

Well as its "new" back it goes, or is it new second hand?

kid 24-03-2011 01:52 PM

Well it's brand new but from Ebay....

I guess the point of this thread was to find out if any others had similar issues or if it was normal under hard driving, before i go through the process of asking for an exchange....

Nevermind i'll do a couple more tests...

have you ruled out the usb stick as the issue?
