Default Impreza roof rack choice

I'm looking for some roof racks for my MY10 WRX. Subaru charge $363 for theirs which they have told me are Thule. Their website shows them as in an aluminium colour. Other than those I have seen some units at SCA priced between $229 and $299. Where else should I be looking and would black be an option?

So you're saying Thule and Thule.

I reckon the aerofoil shaped racks are worth a look - you can get them at Supercheap I think is where I saw them and they fit 2010 WRX as I was going to get them for mine - supposedly less noise and definitely less drag: http://www.prorack-international.com...r_Brochure.pdf

I think the Whispbars were at the $299 end of the price range. It would be nice to get some feedback on the Prorack brand name. I guess their advantage is the ability to buy adapter kits when transferring to another car. Whereas the Subaru item may only be suitable for Imprezas.

Pretty much. If OEM are Thule, then why would you use any different, considering the price isn't massively different to the other brands?

I always use OEM where possible, especially when the price is maybe only $100 more.

I have a nice set of Raks

Rak Roof Racks

pros: best looking roofracks imo, quiet, doesn't stick out like dogs balls
cons: sits close to the roof so some things may scrape your roof if you are not careful.

You're right they look good. Never having owned roof racks I thought you lay your items on the roof and tie them to the bars - am I wrong?

Found these overseas Genuine Subaru Accessories. I could get them through Price USA for A$15 handling fee. What do you think?
