Not saying yours are knock offs but plenty going around these days, just check out this:
Terms and Conditions

From Defi:

Recently, package-copied products and counterfeit products which our trademarks (Defi logo and others) and address are put in are sold in the marketplace around the world.

And we receive inquiries from people who purchased those by mistake.
Those counterfeit products infringes our intellectual property rights.

Please be careful enough because those may disadvantage a person who purchases those.

Please note that we, Defi, do NOT accept liabilities when the following troubles occur:

When those replicas are purchased by mistake.

When Defi products or vehicles break down by installing those replicas.

Knock offs do the same dial dance when they start up etc and look exactly the same, the only way to see the difference of the actual readings from knock off to real would be have them tested.

The only major differ is they dont need the control unit to work just like the Defi Racer gauges.

My mrs cousin has actually sent me a set as a gift so will see if I can get them tested and post results but very hesitant about using them.

Will make a nice addition to a GT console racing wheel for Gran Turismo etc kekeke.

Fakers > DEFI.

ImPreSiV 10-06-2011 08:44 AM

question is - will the fakes work with the Defi Link Controller II ?

mattmy99 10-06-2011 08:52 AM

I dont think they do Kym. They're just like regular/non-defi individual gauges.

Apparently so but will confirm when they arrive and we test them out.

I stand corrected.

Rexxar 10-06-2011 12:55 PM

wow those are really hard to tell until it said they dont require a control unit which is a dead giveaway, none the less reasonable bang for buck copies
I stand corrected.
Nah your ok matt, some suppliers are saying they dont need the controller
and some are saying even though they dont need it they can be used with it if you wish.

So conflicting info, once they arrive I'll test them out and let people know what the go is.

Sorry for the hijack Callum, just thought Id post up the differences.

Most gauges aren't accurate anyway as tested by a company over east with quite a few well known gauges, the only one to be exact was an A'PEXi 10,000 rpm Tacho.

Which can be seen here, although no Defi or Defi knock offs were tested it gives you an insight to readings accuracy:

So will be interesting to try test these against some real Defi's.
