Advice needed on massive paint chip

I have no idea how I got this, but is there something that I need to do to prevent any rust happening before I can bring it into a paint shop to fix it? Also, is bringing it in to a paint shop the only way to get this fixed?

Looks like its on a bumper or other plastic part, if so, no rust;)

Yeah, it's my back bumper. Not too sure when I'll be bringing it in for a new paint job (if needed be) so I'm abit worried it might get rusty. Nice to know that it won't rust (phew!)

It will get worse if you reduce lag on your turbo.

look around for a second hand bumper if you can in the same colour.
