Polyurethane or carbon gc8 02 style scoop??
Heyo, just wondering if anyone knows of any 99/00 gc8 02 sti style scoops which are made of polyurethane or completely made of carbon fibre??
All the ones I can find are fiberglass, or carbon wrapped fiberglass to give them that carbon look... Would like to save a little weight if possible.. cheers |
Tried Ultrex?

Fibreglass is way lighter than Polyurethane & lighter than the stock plastic CG8 scoop.

Mao had a thread full of CF goodies. Might find a scoop on there. Or talk to Tino who had heaps of CF bits made up for his rex-beast; they might be able to make up a scoop too.

Cheers, I looked through there.. but was just under the assumption the fiberglass was heavy so problem solved.. now to try my hand at painting haha |
Cardboard is cheap & light Tom. Maybe splash out & get yourself some Al foil too, you could get yourself a nice set of 20" rims too.

Nope Simon the first option is better, I might even splash out and wrap a cornflakes box in Aluminum foil and tape it there for uber coolness..
I saw the 201 replica but I think i'll go with painting the Fibreglass 02 sti one, don't feel the need for extra attention from cops with a carbon or aluminum foil type.. |
Do you have paint? As in to match your car?

I think there might be some at MMS, but if not ill go get some acrylic matched up from that paint shop in Balcatta.. and the old boy has the gear to spray it.. but its an exact copy of Tourismo Blue commonwhore color I think..
