thinkin of buying an eclipse deck. just wondering what others think of this brand, or if there are any other decks in the 300-400dollar price range that others could reccomend (must have ipod conectivity)

Check eBay for the Alpine decks with optional iPod interfacing. You may end up spending up to about $450 delivered but you will have a much better deck imho.

Depends on wat u plan on doin with ur stereo system. Eclipse are a good headunit. Cant fault em. Im pretty sure u gotta buy an adapter kit for the ipod aswell.

Had to edit. Found out alpine have a diff headunit that has a direct plug in for ipod. You would be far better of getting that one. I can get if for $270 for ya. Not including fitting. That includes everything so u can plug it straight in. Also searches the file on ur ipod very quickly. just scroll then enter and it plays.

I had the loudest stereo in a wrx in WA. Until i hit a wall.

i got one in my car now had it for a couple of years. have had a couple of problems with them. like the head unit not moving to put the cd in. and the buttons keep jamming on them.

Bar the Sony DVD Deck my housemate installed into my wrx for ~4 months, i have had nothing buy Pioneers in my cars. And i've always been happy with them.

300-400 dollar mark generally will get you an mp3 deck with 2-3 pre-outs and detachable facia.

I currently have a DEH-P1Y which i got from eBay for ~500 delivered.
