Is it legal to have headlights and tail lights tinted? I thought you can get yellowed for it... :/
Not legal, so expect a yellow if you black them out.

Illegal for headlights.
Tail lights, no - as long as you leave your indicators and reverse light untouched.

edit: below = illegal (has since been removed)

Suny05 - give Gav from GT Graphics a call tomorrow or Friday. He put my overlays on and still has my templates ('08 wrx hatch tail lights). He said he should be able to source the exact same red tint as used on mine (Oracal) and cut out some new templates for people with 08-12 hatches and put them on for others. Handy if you've rooted some of your film or pre-cut templates.

Tell him Craig with the red wrx hatch recommended you speak to him.

Awesome. Thanks for that. Once my replacement comes in I will definitely touch base with DMS.

The film only covers the red section and with LED emitters.

You need a heat gun, a garage and some patience. If you make creases then you failed but any bubbles will and can be fixed. It takes a good two weeks after the initial install to see the bubbles go away by themselves from my experience. If you still have a few then you can heat the spot up the bit and fix it easily. I have used headlight armour brand tail tints and fog light tints to good effect previously on my Liberty. I even got stopped for random check over the car a couple of times and they were just concerned with the tinting on my drivers windows (passed both times). The key is not to go too dark with the tint.

No rush mate!

edit: can wait until you're back in Perth, and if you live in Dianella you can drop it into the girls at reception if you like (I work in Bedford)

I have some of these coming. Probably not legal because it covers the indicators, but i preferred the look. God knows when ill get them, ordered them almost 6 weeks ago.

Was going to try install myself, but happy to pay someone as id no doubt balls it up like many others have. I was going to see if Julian (the tint guy) would do them... Anyone asked him previously?

Rexxar 09-08-2012 03:28 PM

its only an overlay so its not that hard to remove

I still have to pick my bluemobile one from the last group buy :S

Kremer930 09-08-2012 03:31 PM

That is the same as mine except I got clear indicators as well. I am just waiting for a replacement set.

It's good to know there are people who can install them properly.
