IMO you're doing it wrong.

I don't use a forced rotational polisher and get stunning results each and every time. Even more importantly, it's INCREDIBLY safe to use. Subaru paint is incredibly easy to leave marring/buffing marks in from incorrect use of a forced machine.

It's more about pad/polish combination with using the right speed/pressure.

Quite simply, there isn't anything that a forced rotation machine can do that the dual action can't. I can still heavy cut with a dual action machine fairly quickly, I'd say the difference in time is negligible when I don't have to go back and do separate passes to remove buffing trails from the rotary machine.

Echoing what Adz said, if you are having to use a rotary polisher because a dual action can't remove, leave it to a professional. The oscillating movement of a DA versus high speed spinning of a rotary means that its is [i]very[/i] hard to chew your paint with a DA. The rotary polisher is designed to remove paint / clear quite aggressively for heavy marring / scratches - not an everyday "polish".
