Default 02 Bugeye Sedan bumper replacement

Hi all

I've just purchased a brand new bumper cover from Subaru, as i had trouble sourcing a decent second hand one. Just wanting to know a few little details regarding fitment before i remove my professionally cable tied rooted bumper.

The factory parts diagram shows that there are a few brackets that need to be riveted into place prior to fitment. I was wondering if anyone can provide photos of the inside of a factory bumper cover with the brackets fitted. I have examined the bumper that was previously fitted and am unable to locate any brackets that resemble those in the diagram.

I am able to scan the diagram for anyone who is curious, however a photograph is all i am asking for.

Thanks, Adam

I doubt you need to apply any rivets ? scan the diagram.

Parts 57707AA and 57707AB are currently attatched to my old bumper via rivets.

I'm unsure about the parts 57707F and 57707G, and whether or not they are required for the 2002 model.

The parts guy at Subaru told me i'd need them, but on inspection am unable to locate them on my old bumper. If not, how are the parts secured to the front fender? I'd like to know the exact part numbers i'll require so that i can take it off and replace it, without having to drive around with my new bumper cover hanging lose.

Thanks for the help, Adam

After a bit of searching, but no proper answers or photos to go from, i'm pretty certain that these are the front bumper brackets. Still unsure as to why they're not attached to my old bumper.

If anyone has a photo of the inside of a stock bumper cover, please let me know. Would also like to know if these are meant to be riveted on or not.

If you have provided subaru with your vin number and that's what has come up you will more than likely need them, to see them on your old bumper you will have to pop out the inner guards

Are 57707AA and B riveted to plastic? I'd suggest, considering your current bumper is cable tied in places, that its not very stock. While I'm not super familiar with 01+ body gear I've never really seen a rivet on Subarus

If I recall back to 3 years ago when I had my bug eye bumper off, those 2 brackets are actually bolted or screwed to the bumper (can't remember which, but they're not attached using the push clips)

The only fasteners in your bug eye bumper will be a few bolts and screws, and those plastic push clips. Nothing else is used.

the rivet is only on the support bracket that keeps the bumper in, as i replaced my lst year. not sure if its the 01 02 only
