That was done over east Rich. It was just mdf, wouldn't be hard to do - most decent car audio shops should be able to do it
Cool cool - I agree Re: CD. I don't really need one.

Will grab the Pioneer.
Thanks man.
Good choice. Dual 16 band EQ is the go. Plus it has dual USB ports and SD card capabilities and hi volt pre outs. Shits all over the Alpine with 2V preouts.

Best place to buy said Pioneer DEH-80PRS ?

RichX 15-09-2013 06:44 PM

Now just to see where I can get it cheapest, based on a $800 RRP.

$290 + Postage out of the US looks pretty nice.

Also - What else do i need to buy to mount this in a Subaru? Mounting Sleeve? Trim Ring?

phizzle 16-09-2013 03:32 AM

Around $300 is as good as it will get Russ. I've been keeping an eye on one of these for awhile. Although the Audison Bit ten D offers dual 30 band processing, I reckon for just any old mate who appreciates good sounding music in their car the Pioneer can't beaten. Except by it's big brother the 99PRS :D Another thing I like about the 80PRS is you can run a simple active front stage and sub with all your frequency splitting being done at the head unit, so your amps will only be amplifying a narrower band of frequencies. Mucho niceo

Who would you recommend for an install?

A-One? Volatile? Westside? Alberts? ...

TROLLEY 16-09-2013 08:48 AM

I'll always pump up Westside as Fabian there has always looked after me with a couple of things I've purchased and the installation of my front speakers (which wasn't easy as they're 7" drivers).

A-One won't do simple "we'll just pop your head unit in" installs. It's pretty much all or nothing with them (read: FIFO priced, ground-up builds). eg. strip interior, dynamat everything, custom MDF construction, yadda yadda.
