Someone backed, drove, used a sledgehammer into my car the other day whilst I was away on work so no note, no camera's and or witnesses . So trying to compare the cost of repairing it vs claiming insurance.

Can any one tell me the going price for the following;
05 sti air splitter (potentially repairable)
05 sti fog light cover
05 sti front bumper
Respray of the above in obsidian black.
05 wheel arch cover

My rough estimate is that the above will set me back around the $1000-1500 with second hand parts. Compared to the insurance option where my excess is around $800 from memory, and I'm also presuming this will raise my premiums by a couple hundred for the next few years so budgeting for around $1300 that direction.

I'm leaning towards insurance because I think it might be less headache for me chasing parts and I'm thinking a quicker turn around.

Finally this occurred in a private car park, just wanted to check that there isn't some strange clause with insurance that would allow them to weasel their way out of repairing it.

Let me know your thoughts on the above or if there's anything I've failed to consider.

Guy wants $500 for the black bumper on this ad, too much for me but might save you some hassle. Arch cover can be had sub $200 for an aftermarket replacement

Thanks for the find. I'm going around to have a look at the condition of it tonight. Being the complete piece it might save me the run around if its in decent condition.
