I have just placed an order for a D-shaped Damd steering wheel for my 2005 wrx, I'm kind of having 2nd thoughts about the purchase. I think it looks great, but want to know if anyone has installed one and what its like to use it on a daily basis ??

what's the quality like, worth the expensive price tag?

I had one on my old Forester too. Great build quality and like Burke, I loved it for both daily and track duties.

I believe i ended up with Burke's old wheel.
It is installed into my MY05 STi.
It can be a little unnerving at first when the flat part swings around whilst turning. This is because your brain expects the wheel to be round not "missing".
The feel is great. The rim is thicker and gives the impression of better control.
The wheel tends to wear easily, but it might be my sandpaper hands. Raised areas around the lower grips on mine are slightly shiny/smooth.
The spoke caps were painted black so cannot comment on the silver finish ones.
Installation is a sinch with the right tools. Just ensure that the steering is dead center and mark the shaft and old wheel prior to removal incase you go back.
Be gentle with the airbag connectors and make sure you remove the negative from the battery first.
