Subwoofer into new sti
 

Hi first time poster here.

I just got a 2015 STI premium and want to put a sub and amp in from my old car. I saw there is a stock subby you can buy from subaru that goes in the boot, has anyone tapped into the factory harness for this to make installing the sub a breeze? I'm not looking to enter any audio comps.

The oem sub unit afaik uses your high level speaker inputs to run - loss on audio quality of chosen speakers. Doable but not ideal.

Would recommend a replacement head unit with low level RCA's. Easier to tune and adjust as well.

as you'd have to run decent cable for power anyway you might as well be running some RCAs while you're there too
