Ha ha... My previous set had security screws and still got stolen.

Main problem is that the sort of person who wants to steal them would
generally own a WRX (or knows someone who does). As such they would
read these forums and know about "Coventry's" and "Simon".

There are a few great tricks for these, but like most security devices if you
advertise too much then you give it away to the people you are trying to outwit.

And if you are wondering, the trick with the electrics is to put live wires behind the cover, and glued to the back of it. That way, when they get it off and handle it
they will hopefully get a little kick.

Pulse electric fence kits used to be available from Jaycar for about $20. they run
off 12v and put out about 2,500v (with very low amps). Nice kick, but illegal when
used as a security device like this. I have already looked into this one.

Yeah, You just get them from Subaru or AMCAP depending on what line of business you are in.

I had to buy a right hand side one for my car. I can dig out the part number if you like but they were standard fitment on Version 5 2dr STI and Version 6 4dr STI.

If anyone wants the part number of the right hand one just let me know.

Cheers

Brendon

I Put no screws whatsoever in the front corner of my covers, but used self tapping screws from beneath the lower front lip.

You will notice there is a tab on the bottom (genuine ones) of the covers that the screws can screw into. The head of the screws has then been covered by my lower V6 STi front lip extender.

No brackets are then needed.

No fucker is going to get these out without destroying the covers and a shitload of effort.

Problem solvered

The part number for the right hand one is 57790DA520.

Description is: BRKT COVER FOG RH WRX-STI
Cost from Amcap was $10.49 + gst.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
