"The offset of a wheel is the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel to the true centerline of the rim. A positive offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is positioned in front of the true centerline of the rim / tire assembly. This in effect brings the tire in to the fender well more. Conversely, a negative offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is behind the true centerline of the rim / tire assembly. This will cause the tire to stick out away from the vehicle."

thank u me.... does this mean the +55 on a gc8 would under guards more?

don't forget the offset changes with the width of the rim... standard STI 17" rims are 17x7.5 +55, and they fit just fine under a GC8

Dumb-ass question time - do the factory wheel nuts fit with aftermarket rims or do you need to buy those riced-up fluorescent nuts?

Fled, I think when I got my Volks it was recomended to go with aftermarket lug nuts to suit the seat taper as it is a slightly different angle to our std wheels.

Think so fred - but still. It's probably just a sales pitch so they can try and flogg off some $200 lug nuts.

I've got em - only cos they're bling bling
