N00b question here as i have not had much to do with rims. I have bought a set of 03 STi Rims with new rubber on them so i can clear Brembo's.

Had them posted, and apparently they weighed in at 19.8KG's each with rubber on them at 38psi.

Is this considered lightwieght? Are the STi rims lighter than WRX ones?

Rubber is heavy....

normally rim weight when quoted is just the rim itself. What size rubber etc do you have on it ?

Lightweight compared to chromies... Yes.

Lightweight compared to race rims... No.

Weight compared to WRX rim, probably very similar.

They are a stock rim, so are designed for more strength than lightweight.

sounds about right, tyres weigh roughly the same as rims

After searching for over a year Rampant finally found me some some SSR Type C 16x8 Forged Race Rims. Performance difference was spectacular. Better turn in, acceleration and braking, as you would expect from a rim that weighs only 5.5kg or 12.1 lbs. Spreads a 225x16 R Spec very nicely, rim has a 40mm offset.
