Default DBA's gone rusty ?

Hey ,

Well my brand new dba slotted rotors as gone rusty after washing the car , this is the second time its happened.Last time i took the wheels of and cleaned it of but it keeps happenning
and i cant be farked doing nuts of every time ]
whats my walk way path on this matter???
Will post up pics if needed.

Any help would be great thanks ,

You can't help the disc surface from rusting (fact of life), however you can paint the disc where the pad doesn't run to prevent rusting. The rust where the pad runs will clean off after the first couple of times you hit the brakes.......

drive around the block with a touch of left foot braking
should skim them back into form

yeah dude it happens to mine all the time do one bit of hard braking and its all gone

Dude, my stock rotors do this when I wash my car. Stock, DBA, Brembo or AP Racing, they will ALL do it when you wash the car.

Because the metal surface of the rotor is highly polished and exposed to the elements without any coatings, it builds surface rust very very quickly.

Go and look at any car yard, and all of the cars on the lot will have rusty rotors!

A quick lap around the block with a few brake applications will clean them up very quickly.
