Fair call, my reasoning behind getting the side mount is that in the normal position the numberplate would deflect a lot of air away from a sizable portion of the FMIC and a lot of the 'slots' the air would normally travel through to cool the charged air would get alot less volume through them.

Might only be a degree or two in it but it all counts.

in the centre i say. my old gc8 i screwed it into the actuall bumper so i did remove all that number plate holder and screwed directly into the bumper which didnt make it sit so low.

new one i just left it on factory holes and sits fine i wouldnt say it covers very much and nothing to the point where i would notice any difference my self.

I got a slim line plate, its never posed a problem with my FMIC

You'll find that air flows under the plate anyway, its not as if air travels in a single direction!!

Surly on the road it isn't going to make a huge differance. maybe a kw or two at the speeds you can manage 99% of the time. If you go to the drags or the track just take it off.

I really don't see it being an issue at all, it's looks more than anything.

If you have state plates cut off the blue bit at the top and re drill the holes so that you lift it up as much as possible. The boys in blue never gave me any grief for it. I reckon it attracts less attention if it is mounted in the middle.

LOL you can just screw the numberplate to the fog light cover on GC8's .. .that rib that pokes out.. 2x screws into that through the plate for a perfect EVO mount.
