WRXRW 20-07-2009 07:53 PM

nice work! was there today getting the 201 looked at. they had a few issues with a quality install job you did (or whoever it was) on the bov with the gasket being folded over and leaking boosts!

car sounded tuff as on the dyno, congrats!

Stevo B 20-07-2009 07:53 PM

If you dont mind me asking, what sort of $$ were you up for roughly :icon_jook

DS06WA 20-07-2009 08:06 PM

i wish i was there to see it on the dyno

yeh steve thats cool cost me $1700 thats with an hour of dyno
and an extra $400 for abit of work that they did so i would say budget for nearly 2 grand

Stevo B 20-07-2009 08:29 PM

Thanks bud, not bad considering the kw's you are achieving, cheers:D

Jezza 21-07-2009 12:46 AM

congrats mate.

talking about this mod bug, do you know if future tunes are cheaper if you wanted to upgrade your turbo for example? or will it be $1700 every time

Evidencee 21-07-2009 01:08 AM

You only pay for dyno time at an hourly rate for retunes, as the tuning program is already mapped onto your ECU.
$1700 or whatever amout it was is only for the initial program setup and tune.

I’ve been at X-speed today to compare some prices on spares and services. I was informed that hey don’t do Ecutech and the ECU’s they install will set you back about $6000. They weren’t to helpful on giving any upgrading info and was also told I should have bought a Lancer as Rexy’s tend to brake down when you do upgrades on them. I left the shop feeling some resentment… I think I’ll stick to MMS and MRS. :)

whats an ecutech? and who are MRS?

willem 22-09-2009 08:41 PM

Spelling mistake, sorry. ECUTEK, not ECUTECH, is the programs that is supported by your standard ECU. It's designed to allow easy access to the factory ECU. RMS is a Subaru service centre in Carlisle.

MY99 22-09-2009 09:01 PM

RMS don't tune stock ECUs either.
MMS and Race Torque for ECUTEK
ASG for Verso

Definitely stick to the Subaru specialists though!
