Iridium Power is recommended for
the following kind of user.“I want the next level of response and power for my baby”
For drivers that care about performance.
By using a 0.4mm diameter iridium alloy center electrode and a special ground electrode, IRIDIUM POWER realizes spark performance unseen until now. It steadily gives a high level of response under a variety of driving conditions. The result? Increased acceleration and torque compared to regular plugs.

“It’s the car that I drive every day, so I want less fuel consumption.”
For drivers that care about mileage.
If you use your car on a daily basis, you may be concerned about fuel consumption. IRIDIUM POWER is one solution.

These plugs provide increased performance for daily or track use. The surpass that of the oem platinum or iridium plug.

thanks man

Rossco 12-10-2011 01:32 PM

I have the ik22's, I rate them. No miss even at 1.7 bar on factory plug gaps.

mao 12-10-2011 01:59 PM

50k no probs. Won't like to use plugs more that 50k myself.

NGK Iriways and Denso IKs are awesome plugs. HKS, Sard and Greddy stamp their names on these plugs and sell them at a higher price.

Hey Mao,

Im looking for NGK Iridiums. LFR7AIX? I think the model is? How would I gap them to .030"? Can you do that?

mao 12-10-2011 03:53 PM

Hi Jon, how are you?

Iridiums are not meant to be gaped as they already produce a very strong spark with the factory gap, unlike the platinums.

The iridium tips are a very sensitive element tip that may get damaged easily through gapping. Wouldnt recommend gapping unless you are after something specific. If you really need to gap them, we will do it for you. Takes less than a min.

thanks for your help today mao

i had this horrible feeling that i was going to drive all the way out to robs for him to have the wrong ones, but it was all good :)

mao 18-10-2011 11:06 PM

Rob is eccentric but reliable. He plays with old school toyotas. Glad it worked out for ya.

Difference between good plugs and faulty plugs:

We have just re-tuned Simon's car ready for his round of 0-400m today. Couple of months back, the car had a misfire above 5000rpm where we reset trigger levels on the Vi-pec to dismiss the tune. This resulted in a 335hp run.

However, at the last Kwinana drags, he complained of a misfire up top again which only gave him a best time of 12.7s.

Yesterday, we put his car on the Dynapack for a retune. This time round, the car hit 330hp max. After about 3 runs, the car started misfiring again, dropping power to 308hp. We tried to reset voltages and dwells, as well as trigger levels, but there was no improvement.

We then proceeded to change the Ik22 plugs and new coil-packs. Problems solved!! You can see the coilpacks at our O2/Coilpack thread ( http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/evolution-r/43601-genuine-subaru-o2-sensors-afr-knock-sensor-coil-packs-2.html. )

Below is how Roughstilin's car performs when it misfires:

Below is the result of today's tune and our tune is health-proven. Stock STi 2.0 engine is still mint, producing awesome power boosting at a max of 1.85 bar of boost after all the events he has been to.

Warning: I have just pulled a set of NGK Iriway copies out of a Subaru. Thought they were the coilpacks causing the misfire and detonation.

These are selling for under $15 each locally. Will not mention names but please don't cheap out on the spark plugs. Saving couple T dollars in exchange for a damaged engine is not worth it.

Always ask for proof of manufacture.

Cheers,
Mao
