Hi Rossco,

Still waiting for some info from Exedy as there was a public holiday this week in Japan.

You sure about the cushion plate ---- 1.7bar is not exactly the avg daily street spec STi.

Yeah that disc is the cushioned ceramic type, I need to source a kit as the diaphram on my current clutch is going over centre at high rpm (causing the pedal to stay on the floor during high rpm shifts).

Add to that that it won't hold anymore than 1.5 bar before it slips.

Note to self: don't buy supposedly 'uprated' clutches from overseas...... Just buy an Exedy kit in the first place!

I have the Stage 1 Organic running 1.6bar and topping out @ 500Nm. No problems. You dont need ceramic puk clutch Rossco.

I don't stock the Australia versions but only the made in Japan ones.
But a good comparison between the different clutch types can be seen at:

All depends on your driving application.

Just keep in mind Im using the 6 speed version with a 240mm clutch plate.

compared to the 5 speed version which will use a 230mm plate. Having that slight extra diameter increases my clutch's torque handling and longevity.

You can run a 6 speed flywheel and clutch with your 5 speed though if you wanted. Just takes a slight amount of grinding inside the 5 speed bellhousing.

Or just put a 6 speed in.

Nissan RB25DET Stage 2 Ceramic 3puk: $400 per kit
Nissan Pulsar GTiR Stage 2 Ceramic 3puk (disc only no pressure plate): $230

what is the difference between a ceramic puck and an organic clutch plate?

i'm still confused
do ceramic puck clutches wear out faster than the organic?

i don't know whether to get stage 1 or 2 for my car, i'd only get stage 2 so it would last longer, is this a viable assumption?

Differences between organic and ceramic:

1) Ceramic withstands higher heat, bites harder and lasts longer.

2) Driveability is race car mode and not novice mode, got to accustom to precise clutch engagment points.

At the end of the day, choose the clutch that you think is right for your application.

Would be keen on a stage 2 kit for a GDB. How much notice would you need Mao?
Is this clutch ok for everyday use with the occasional track day? Don't really want a full race set up.
