We cannot sell you STD coilovers by themselves unfortunately due to our duty of care to provide you with the extended 18mths warranty.

You can also purchase and install the coilovers through Wheels World shortly who will be our dealer other side of the river.

I will now go through the various differences bwtween the Subaru Impreza GC8 WRX/STi, GDA/GDB WRX/STi and GDB-F STi. This will be very useful information for Perth WRX members when purchasing the right coilover that will fit your specific Subaru model.

Below are the different sets used for comparisons:

Front Suspension Comparison between GC8, GDA/GDB and GDB-F (left to right):

Comparison:
-GC8, GDA/GDB and GDB-F all have different front leg mounts. The GC8 has a clip on brake-line mount, while the GDA/GDB and GDB-F have screw on brake-line mounts. ABS mounts are the same between 3 models.
- GDA/GDB and GDB-F have different size mounts that bolt onto the front hubs (distance between the two parallels are different).
- Furthermore, the angle of the leg mount is different from the early model GDA//Bs as the AUDM GDB-F and some GDB-E have bigger CV joints. (see pic below)

GDB-F and some GDB-E front bottom leg mount (note the angled leg to accomodate larger CV joint):

GDB/GDA bottom leg mount:

GC8 vs GDB Front Pillow Upper Top Mounts:

Comparison:
The Camber adjustable angles are different.

GDA/GDB Driver's side and passenger side Pillow upper top mounts are also different:

Comparison:
Camber adjustable angles are different between driver and passenger side.

Rear Suspension Comparison between GC8, GDA/GDB and GDB-F (left to right):

Comparison: The rear leg mounts are exactly the same (although different between driver and passenger sides as the brake line mounts are pointing in a different direction), length of shock and spring rates are the same. However the tops are different as we do the comparison below.

Pic of Camber Adjustable Pillow Upper Top Mount GDA/GDB/GDB-F vs GC8:

Comparison: The GDA/GDB/GDB-F top mount(left) studs and camber adjustment have a different orientation to the GC8 top mount(right). So these tops are not interchangeable.

I will take more pics and further add more details to the above comparisons when time allows.

Will also post up the STD Coilover detailed install on the GRB STi shortly.

This was a previous job done by myself on a GRB STi.

Below are the pics of how the vehicle came in:

Jack rear of vehicle up and place the vehicle on jack stands if you don't have a hoist. Remove the bottom bolt holding the rear shock in and also remove the sway bar linkage bolt:

Take note! On the passenger side, becareful not to damage the Vehicle Stability Sensor:

Remove trim covering spare wheel. Proceed to remove the passenger side plastic trim piece. This will expose the suspension top bolts:

Driver's rear is a little more tricky. The foam trim had to be removed followed by the plastic cover. I used a closed end spanner instead, so as not to scratch the plastic trim that was in the way.

Below is a comparison between the STD coilover and the factory rear shock:

I then proceeded the do the installation. Subaru suspension work is a beauty and when it all comes together, it all clicks in perfectly.:

Rear Pics:

STD Patented Scaling for precise height adjustments (no measureing tape or rule needed):

Cold Forged STD yellow springs:

Damper Adjustment from the top:

Front factory Macpherson Strut:

STD Coilover vs factory spring and shock:

STD Forged bottom leg mount used for the front with proper ABS and brake line mounts:

Once again, STD Patented Scaling for accurate height adjustments:

Forged Aluminium Camber Adjustable Pillow Upper Ball mount with Damper Adjustment:

STD suspension supplied, fitted and aligned by Evolution R:
