Im happy about this but i believe restricting the HP reduces the advancement in engineering. I believe it should have limits on induction size, outlet size, fuel type etc and displacement. Other than that, go for your lives.

IE if ya want to run a 3 cylinder turbo and superchager then go for it. Want a 6 cylinder with 4 mini turbos, great!

Just dont limit the power.

Can anyone say what will happen in regards to lag and RPM?
Surely they won't rev to 20k RPM still?
And I know gear shifts are quick, so i suppose there will be no lag on the gear change changes?
I wasn't alive when they used to use turbos in the F1s, years ago, so someone on here might be able to clue me in.

cheers

The 80's era turbos ran about 10,000rpm with 5+bar boost generating some stupid qualifying power of 1500hp or something. They would run 4 bar for race and 5 bar for qualifying.

Epic.

I have seen an article somewhere saying they will be 3 bar and fuel mass flow limited and run around 10000rpm although it wasn't clear if that was limited or just the most likely end result of an efficient design. 650hp is the approx target.

Each driver would be restricted to 5 engines so revving the tits off it is just not going to be smart. 4 races for each engine (assuming a long term move to 20 races a season) is going to hurt if you cop a dodgy one that pops on it's first race.

me: vettel to take out either webber or alonso in the first lap. giving the championship to the person who keeps away from the carnage.

Webber will put it on the podium. I think the top 3 won't change to be honest.... unless it pisses down with rain.

I think Alonso has the greater speed for Sector 1 so he might pip Webber & Vettel.

As long as Webber does not crash and finish in the Top 3 he will still hold onto his Lead.
