I think looking at fastest sectors and speed trap that Webber is running more downforce than the rest. I expect Alonso and Hamilton to get through on the first lap but the front 4 to stay quite close until the first stop.

If I'm right Webber should be sliding a bit less and have less graining than the others. I expect he will stop a few laps later and slip through to the lead. Assuming Vettel can't pull away and I don't think he will. Vettel murdered the softs on Friday so he could be a fairly early stopper.

If it rains and Webber is running more downforce then he's probably looking a pretty good bet.

So devastating for Webber

I felt sorry for Vettel even though it was probably a good thing to happen from Mark's perspective - to have an engine let go after absolutely dominating a race for 46/55 laps is pretty devastating.

That was an epic race though! So many incidents, so much overtaking, gotta love a bit of rain

emo post go;

Every decision made by the stewards helped alonso and hamilton.

Sour grapes from me, but ffs. Race should not have started when it did and should have been called when its started to get dark. If you are going to let the race go in conditions like that, it should have been a clear cut, safety car for 3 laps then x number of laps regardless.

Webber is now 2nd overall 11 points behind Alonso & 10 ahead of Hamilton with just Brazil and Abu Dhabi to go.

Man that sux BUT.

Vettel is now 25 points behind Alonso and is an unrealistic chance for the title.

If Webber can win the next two races he will still beat Alonso.

If Red Bull are serious about a drivers championship they now have to tell Vettel he is number two. He will not pull back 25 points on Alonso.

I still think Alonso will probably take a 9th engine but will still end up solidly in the points so Mark is still a big chance but Vettel will struggle.

I bet Hammy's new knick name is "The Cheshire Cat". He's a long shot but that could have well and truly being extinguished today if Mark had a good Day.

Interesting twist to the end of the year!!!
