Recommended places to take your car for mods ..
Heyas,
I thought it may be a good idea to have a single thread where everyone can post up good experiences only of where, what, when, cost etc when they have had stuff done to their car. This can be anything from painting wheels, to engine builds, body work, stereo installs etc. It'd be good to have a single location where you can come to find a decent place that someone else has been to and can vouch for their quality. It's always a bit of hit and miss these days when taking your car somewhere. I don't know about you but i hardly trust anyone, so it'd be nice to have a big thread with lots of happy people so people planning future mods to their car can see where other people have been for a quality job. Also think of it as a good place to plug someone who has kept the customer in mind and treated your car with the respect it deserves. Machining work
RAE Ranch Automotive Engineering They have awesome equipment and expert tradesmen. If you need anything machined I bet that they can do it and do it well. I have nothing but good praise for their work and their pricing. They machined, straightened and crack tested my crank EJ20 and machined, resized and straightened all of my con rods in half a day and it only cost next to nothing!! STEREO:
Alberts cannington. knowledgeable people, will actually prefer to convince you to get a decent product (even if you go elsewhere) then sell you a crappy product! great service, can always spare a moment. i can even rock up these days, tell them something i don't like with my tuning and they will try and sort it out with no charge.

Allstar or Revlimit if you are in the Dirty south and have put down the crack pipe long enough on the stolen commodores arm rest to actually think about doing something to your own car (possibly also stolen)

as above for RMS, good service ( well... when Alex was there as i haven't needed to go back since!! ).
Gearboxes WA, 52 Tate St Welshpool Gary ph: 9361 6222 do all manuals and autos, cars, 4X4's etc etc excellent service and workmanship. helped me out alot when i needed my g/box and diff rebuilt in my commodore, good pricing too and he was even was willing to help 2yrs after the rebuilds when i had a problem with the g/box..... and he fixed it for free. Atlas Parts & Panels, 5 Babel Rd Welshpool ph:9458 5733 not exactly the best quality on some bits and not sure on the Subaru side of things but... very cheap aftermarket and s/hand parts and body panels, mostly from Japan for Jap cars. good service, cheap prices and they always seem to knock a couple of dollars off prices to make it easier. have bought a few bits for the hilux we are playing with some eg's we bought: 1985 hilux new bonnet $135, hilux window regulator $38, hilux tail lights $20 Last edited by ITGRIPS; 16-07-2008 at 10:28 AM.
