ammended previous post.

If you need to sort any doubt check the vin on the half cut.
They don't have any true spec c running gear for a late gd ('06).
They do however have jdm sti gear, which is twin scroll, as all jdm sti from my03 onwards are.

It is just not real spec c.

If you need to sort any doubt check the vin on the half cut.

Sorry if this bursts anyone's bubble.
They brought in afew spec Cs i think upon request so you're probably right Jeff,

Just call to make sure anyways, a shipment is arriving so who knows

The Spec C should also have the vf36 twin scroll turbo and the twin tank top mount intercooler!!

By the way the Jap Sti and Spec c motors are exactly the same, the only difference is the JDM Sti has a VF37 twin scroll turbo, the main difference is the lighter body panels the Spec C has and the better TMIC.

cheers

At the end of the day...
check the applied model code on the id plate (left hand strut tower) and then go to the sti website and check the list of homologated models to see what the car was/is.
Doing this will find the truth, and separate the real spec c's from the rest.

STI325V6 24-11-2008 09:28 PM

Let's be honest here, when all is said and done, none of them when done in Australia are real Spec C's anyway, and I have no issues saying this as I have one myself... :D

Here's another example of the work performed by Auto Evolution:

Originally an 02 bug-eye Impreza N/A, its had a complete STi Spec C conversion...entire drivetrain, brakes, suspension, interior, bodykit, lights, etc...all up costing about $33,000 on the road
