Yeah, there is a dog called Dogmeat in a scrapyard, towards the north-east corner of the map

he follows you, finds health, finds ammo, find guns, growls when danger is nearby, and fights pretty hard - takes a lot of the hits for you.

very handy really

Playing this on 360 at the moment on 50 inches of goodness and excellent sound in the darkness. Hell of a game, very very good - Worth the buy i reckon. Took a bit to get used to making choices on what to do, and using VATS and stuff - But very feature filled challenging game i think.

Looks like a good game. And the portion that I have played of it was good fun.

It crashes and freezes a lot. There is one quest now I cant finish because of the freezing. I need to get into the washington monument so I can repair a radio relay station. But as soon as I enter the building. It freezes. Other people around the world have been getting similar issues.

Theres a patch coming soon, but this only fixes one crashing problem when you start the game. Which I dont get.

Good game let down by shitty bugs and glitches.
If it's crashing and freezing like you say then you have a problem with your PC not the game.
At home Ive been playing it on Windows 7 Beta for over 25 hours with not even a single glitch.

I also installed and played it on my work computer (you know just at lunch) and thats an iMac running VISTA and again, not a single freeze, crash or glitch.

If I was you I would be checking for updated drivers for your hardware,
then look for virus, trojans and rootkits...
