I've played it yesterday for a few (read many) hours.
All I can say is: if you don't have a steering wheel, you are seriously missing out.
Thanks to the new physics over Prologue, you really feel more connected in the car now, I think - particularly on the more powerful cars like a Lambo or a NASCAR.

I guess my only gripe so far is loading times. I can understand courses taking a while, but the menus are ridiculous. Want to go to the options menu? 20 second wait in and out. Same for buying parts for your car.
There's still some rough edges unfortunately.
Oh and the high-frequency 'ping' every time you move around the menu is cutting away my hearing from 14k hertz up. Gay choice!! Must have been put there by some old bloke who can't hear...

That aside, ima go play it for 12 hrs k?

Just grabbed a copy (standard edition) for $77 at Eb games Morley, they will price match so dont pay $79. With the $2 saved buy yourself a Coke while you wait for the slow installing process!

Very average. Burnout paradise or V8 Supercars FTW when it comes to damage. The driving physics is where it's at.

I'd say the IGN review is pretty accurate.

I disagree.. the physics are conducive to a good controller experience also, and although I've used both wheels and controller in the past with GT5 Prologue, I enjoy the ease and compactness of storing a controller in the draw in the lounge, so I lean towards it through convenience.. and as a result, I have gotten quite good at using one. Thats the difference I reckon.. lots of practice

Can't wait for this to come out in a couple of weeks time.. I'll be getting one!

Wheels are all good in theory but I have nowhere to put one. Guess I could rest it on my knees on the couch...

Controller will have to do me.

Or you could try this - except you'll be waiting a while for delivery.

You wont be resting a decent wheel on your knees. The force feedback is way too strong for that.
