Upgrade Time
hey PC guru's...
Its time again for an upgrade for my computer. Use it mostly for gaming and movies. I'm thinking upgrading CPU (prefer AMD) / MB / VC & Ram... what is a good combo? cheers |
Just built a new machine for my dad..
Intel core2quad Q9400 Asus P5P43TD-PRO 8GB DDR3 1333 Mhz Kingston RAM Also added in Asus GF9500GT 1GB Graphics Card and a 1TB hard disk. Machine really flies and works really well for him. His currently going through some of his holiday videos and editing them. Really quite a nice machine |

No complaints, runs superfast and has good graphics. |
RAM is cheap as chips (excuse the pun)
The min I would be getting is 4GB but you can never have enough RAM. 8GB will need a 64 Bit Windows to access that amount but most hardware and software works on a 64bit environment now days. |
I was thinking:
CPU: AMD Phenom II QUAD Core 965 MB: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P AM3 DDR3 VC: Gigabyte GTX 295 1792Mb DDR3 896bit RAM: 8Gb Triple DDR3 1600 Memory Corsair Or better but not state of the art. |
Great Combo there, Obtain a copy of Windows 7 RTM 64 Bit and your system will run sweet.
Just remember you cannot use SLI with this motherboard as it only supports ATI X-Fire. |
