Gt6

GT6 - Any thoughts?

Got the Anniversary Edition on the weekend, seems good so far

fatboy 09-12-2013 10:04 AM

Loving it so far, spent 15 hours in my simulator at the weekend!

Playseat F1 with T500rs wheels and pedals, can feel the difference in the wheel response over gt5

Awesome setup!

So far it seems not as many prizes for winning championships

Jeckle 10-12-2013 09:50 PM

Agree with both.

Probably due to being able to purchase credits to buy the cars you want/need.

Like the suggested cars, rather than picking a car, entering and event, getting arse kicked and then buying the right car.

I'm really enjoying it.

Alex.'s ghosts are awesome to try chase down. So crazy fast!!!
I'm still going on the controller, would love to go get a seat but I gave 0 space and dollars.

I'm getting a buttload of free cars doing the licences though

What's your PSN tag, Beau?

FOR EVERYONE:
DISCLAIMER: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

1. Back up your GT6 save file onto a USB thumb drive (just in case)

2. Make sure you have a Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo in your garage.
You get the first one free from the 'Vision GT' car list.

3. Make sure you have a car selected other than the AMG Vision.
Select your Honda Fit for example.

3. Quit the game and delete the GT6 Game Data from the XMB menu.
DO NOT DELETE YOUR GT6 SAVE GAME FILE!

4. Disconnect your PS3 from the internet.

5. Re-launch the game (the game will run in V1.0 mode - without the patch)

6. Go into your garage and you will see a car called [2055].
This is the AMG Vision vehicle, but the game doesn't recognise it with patch V1.02

7. Sell this vehicle.
You will be prompted that the value of the car is 333,993,856 credits, but you will only get 20,000,000 credits (game maximum). Select YES.

You now have 20,000,000 credits. Great, but here's the kicker....

8. Quit the game, reconnect to the internet and start the game again.
This time download the V1.02 patch and bring your game up to date.

9. Use your newly acquired 20,000,000 credits to buy 20x Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Vehicles.

10. Quit the game and delete the GT6 Game Data from the XMB menus.
Once again, DO NOT DELETE YOUR GT6 SAVE GAME FILE!

11. Disconnect your PS3 from the internet.

12. Re-launch the game (the game will run in V1.0 mode again - without the patch)

13. Sell one of your [2055] AMG Vision vehicles. You now have 20,000,000 credits.

14. Go on a shopping spree and spend all the money.

15. Sell another [2055] vehicle

16. Rinse and repeat until all [2055] cars are sold.

This will effectively give you 400,000,000 credits

Be warned though, the process of buying hundreds of cars will take hours!! Once you've cashed all your [2055] cars, re-patch the game.

B.johnson

I have been racing the shifter karts with the perth street bikes crew

If you have nothing on tomorrow night we should have a run, the shifters are awesome (but can do any car you like)

Was thinking of putting the seat in the back of the ute for some shits and giggles at collie but i don't have a spare tv (thats not mounted on a wall!)

Alex you the man!

Have you tried the above method of aquiring vehicles?

Jeckle 12-12-2013 09:59 AM

And will this work if you have already installed the latest patch, or is that the purpose of step 5 to get round the patch 1.02.

This could be very handy as I only got the cheap $69 version of the game.

Yeah I'm free most Thursdays (that don't have real life racing on) and usually head on with Franz, Mark Greenham, Cam Pewsey, mini Danny Cerro, Lachy from here, Brockas from Antilag … so we'll be on tonight. Usually have a race series but as GT6 is new/Chrissy time we're just stuffing around everywhere.
IWas thinking of putting the seat in the back of the ute for some shits and giggles at collie but i don't have a spare tv (thats not mounted on a wall!)
I've got a similar setup to you (see pic) including the new Ferrari 458 add-on wheel. So good isn't it.
There's plenty of TVs in the rooms *driver training on the sims, then put it to practice on the track next day* :P
Alex you the man!

Yep. It works a charm. Get on it soon incase they put out a patch that (I would think) will make your save-game data incompatible if you do this trick. For now it works.
I still enjoy all the tests and licences so will of course still do those, but being able to buy whatever car I want rather than having to grind races is awesome.
And will this work if you have already installed the latest patch, or is that the purpose of step 5 to get round the patch 1.02.
Should work; I had that patch and it was fine.
You delete the game data back to V1.0 because in V1.0 the Mercedes sells for $20million rather than the $300k it sells for in V1.02 That's the main reason for it.
So essentially you should stay on V1.0 while you buy all the cars you want so that as your money depletes you just sell another of the Mercs for $20mill and continue buying cars.
