go with a VF34, same as what I had on my MY00 with an autronic. Managed a 12.7 with it down the 1/4 before I sold it off.

STREETABLE TURBO = minimal lag...
With a nice dollop of fat midrange torque is what your after.... In this order: (Best at top) VF36 VF37 VF35 VF34 VF35/34 are bolt on jobs. Combined with a cheap PossumLink ECU ($1200ish inc tune) is very good bang for your buck. Please please pick an ECU that removes the Air Flow Meter if you want to keep your WRX reliable for many years of ownership. VF36/37 will be the best streetable VF series turbo you can get. $3000 ish for the turbo plus headers, sump, dump + associated bit n bobs. Exhaust dump pipe design is critical with the VF35/34 Turbo to achieve quicker spool up and increased torque outputs. Any local workshop should be able to do the correct length splitter but again the ultimate in design comes from here.... http://www.msengineering.com.au/exhaustsystems.html All the splitter dump systems around the country ARE copies of Michaels original designs.
