Default Turbo choice Replacement for a MY00 WRX?

Hey Guys

Okay if I am abt to replace my current Turbo on my MY00 WRX what is the best replacement choice? I'd prefer to keep my WRX a nice streetable ride, but a few extra horses wouldn't go astray!

Also can I swap the MY00 ECU for an MY99? If so, are there any any things that one must be weary of?

Thanx in advance.

Cheers

Or a VF30. 30 & 34 are the same except the 34 is roller bearing. Bearings will help to spool it up faster but 30 is cheaper.

If your going for a new Turbo, might be time to look at a new ECU aswell.

Link - Cheap (Installed/Tuned $1200+)
Autronic - Average (Installed/Tuned $2000+)
Motec - Expensive(Installed/Tuned $3000+)

Do a search on the forums you might come up with more info about the different ECU's. But basically go with the best you can afford, because that will allow for more modding and smoother power.

Changing from a MY00 to a MY99 ECU won't help if your changing your turbo, new ECU is the only way to get reliable power. Though I have herd the MY99 is a more "Aggressive" Tune.

^^I agree IHI VF34, or GTPS01
depends on where you want your power and how much, but have a look here also, might help you decide what turbo. http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanicals/492-ihi-turbos-specs-faq.html

The vf35 & vf34 which year WRX was the turbo from & what pricing am I looking at?

I am opting towards a factory 99ECU "Plug N Play" as I have been told the same thing, that it is more aggresive. So does this mean more power being squeezed out of the engine..?

Thanx for the info so far guys!
