New ADR rules
Makes for interesting reading:
http://www.antilag.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12632 this part in particular seems stupid, wouldn't this mean any wrx/sti after 03 would fail due to the hight scoop?? Page 11 of this document if you can't read the pic above... 165mm is a fairly large object, id say our scoops are good.
Perhaps its time to go FMIC ala evo :) |
haha 165mm!
|
165mm would allow small children to be sucked in I reckon! think we are ok unless suby come up with a new design for scoop!
|
the scoops are much smaller on the 06 onwards... only the 03-05 had the big one...
|
What I was getting at was the part where it says no part of the scoop can touch the sphere above the center line, which is only 85mm. At a guess I'd have thought the bigger scoops would have an opening higher than 8.5cm....
|
Just quickly measuring it, an 05 scoop would just comply.
But nothing to fear. You can't suddenly make a stock car illegal, so there wouldn't be any dramas with it. |
really what does the 05 measure?
|
a cop that pulled me over said if he can fit a tennis ball in there it's illegal. so i dont drive past burswood when the hopman cup is on. got 05 sti scoop on 01.

was that some sarcasim or a bit of truth?? how can the police say something is illegal when its fitted by the factory?? it happens all the time. i had an argument with a cop one time about the air tray and extractors on my commode, he tried telling me i needed permits for them, but i politely told him thats the way it came and now i carry build papers in the glove box to prove it. |
