Default New Tune, Yea Baby

Just had Lane run my 06 STi on his Dyno for the first time ( only bean on PSI Dyno Dynamics before) and give it a bit of a tweek.

Original on DD was 184 KW

First run on the Mainline was 175KW so Guess the DD is the go for bragging figures.

Before tune KW & Torque ATW
Max KW 175.6
Max Torque 596.3
Ave KW 155.0
Ave Torque 529.4

After Tune
Max KW 182.5
Max Torque 641.6
Ave KW 166.7
Ave Torque 573.5

Car feels much smoother and much quicker than original tune.
Boost is running between 16 1/2 to 17 psi somewhere ( I think ) 1.17 Bar

Black is new tune, the really hard to see yellow is the old.

Very Very happy. 12.8 here we come.

Thanx Lane

congrats mate! Bum dyno is the bottom line and sounds like you got a good result. Be interesting to see if that translates to better 1/4 mile time.

A few of us reckon it would have just got a 12.8 with a really good run before. My mate pulled a better 60 ft time on his first ( and only ) run than my fastest but stuffed the shift to 3rd.

So really think it should do it now. Can get 13.0 - 13.1 reasonably consistantly on a cooler night. Hopping I can do that consistently now and go a bit easier on the launch.

My Bad I completely forgot to ask that one and lane didn't print it out. I'm sure with lane it will be pretty conservative. Had a couple of runs on Wed night while it was still above 40 and coming back from Adelaide Tuesday was up to 43. Suspect he has left AFR's the same said most of what he did was valve timing. Wasn't quite playing the game before.

1/4 mile times dont mean much... take it onto barbagallo, midvale or a random hillclimb etc and see what it does there... maybe set a benchmark for the rest of the pig's

Have done a very unofficial 1m 10.3 on the long track ( was on the stop watch on a mobile so would be a bit inaccurate but was pretty happy anyway).

To disorganised to get out recently but is on the agenda.

Just come back from Adelaide ( Learnt to drive in the Adelaide Hills and some how survived all the silly things that I did in the old scorpion and renta cars ( MGF, MR2 ,Mini were my favorites)

The old 98 WRX used to blow me away before I brought it over here. The STi didn't go any quicker ( little more concerned about the licence these days ) but it never even felt like I was even working it. Absoulutely unreal how good it is.

No no more mods just new tune and old exhaust.

Was getting quite a few boost cuts last time I went to Barbagello so next time I manage to haul my arse out there I hope that is now fixed and figure I should be able to drop into a 1:09 somthing.
